A Hectic End To The Year

Midnight, 6th December, 2023.

I said I would do a blog a day, but circumstances have meant that I've not been able to.

6 days in and there's still not a blog to be seen!

Ironically enough, in 2022, the very same thing happened, but on a much smaller scale - the first "Blog A Day" coming out on the 3rd Dec.

Ever since I've come back from Spain, I feel like I've been playing catch-up - I don't know if it's because of the shorter days (longer nights) but time is just FLYING by.

As they always say though, January is always the longest month!

October 20th, 2023

We touchdown in the UK. 67 Days To Christmas.

I've got a lot to catch up on, both virtually and in the real world.

The day after we land, I catch up with a friend before returning to the Isle Of Wight.

I've missed a lot. Both in the virtual world and real. Upon returning to the Isle Of Wight:

-The FalkenTyre SportsCar Challenge is at COTA (Don't LOVE COTA) -The "SCCA Run-Offs" Special Event is happening/happened (races during the week, Top 40 in championship points for that week/series race against one another) (There were multiple series to choose from including

VIRginia International Raceway & Aston GT4)

-Another episode of "Overtake!" a Japanese anime I'm watching is released.

-Ringmeister (every week the car changes instead of the track, the track always stays Nurburgring Nordschliefe, the cars change on a weekly basis) ran the Aston Martin Vantage GT4 (one of the best combos) - it ended pretty well with a:

Between landing and December, "ended up" on the mainland every week

16th - 20th Oct: (Week 1): In Spain/returning to UK (20th Oct.)

23rd Oct: Universal Credit Meeting & Ringmeister Aston Race (On the mainland on the 25th - 28th) 30th Oct. - 5th Nov: (Week 2): Back on mainland for a week of Fireworks*

1st Nov: Tesco started hiring in my local area, applied, apparently my application is still under review... 2nd Nov: Had a car Diagnostic (The Car Clinic)

3rd Nov: Chesunt Fireworks (Missed) 4th Nov: Woking Fireworks 5th Nov: Brands Hatch Fireworks (Big Finale)

6th - 12th Nov: (Week 3): On the mainland for the Race Of Remembrance 7th Nov: Returned to Island 9th Nov: Left Island For Wales 11th - 12th: The race was 12hrs, stopping overnight. 13th: Returned home, stopped overnight at a hotel between 12th - 13th Nov.

(15th Nov: Teardown DLC) (16th Nov: UC Meeting

(17th - 19th: Saw Friend)

(20th: Supposed to have a trial shift, (on the Island) but didn't have business insurance.

20th - 27th Nov (Week 4): On the mainland for car repair work

After a week on the Isle Of Wight, I returned to the mainland to have an issue fixed that's been grinding my gears...since it first became apparent.

The inside of my rear tyres wore faster than the outside due to the wheels having negative camber - in November, I finally got it sorted on the 23rd Nov.

Or well, I thought I had it sorted - Turns out a bolt was bent and they have do everything (pretty much) from scratch...including the tracking/alignment afterwards. The joys of a shitbox huh? Whilst on the mainland, I missed out on some "unfavourable" races - The FalkenTyre SportsCar Challenge at Lenedon and VRS E at Magney Cours.
